Michael Boyle, MD, FCCP
Adjunct Professor of Medicine
President and CEO, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Dr. Michael Boyle is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of expertise include adult cystic fibrosis care and research, lung transplantation and pulmonary diseases.
Dr. Boyle founded and then directed the Johns Hopkins Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program from 1999 to 2015 at the Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center. He is the President and CEO of the U.S. Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Adjunct Johns Hopkins faculty member. His research is focused on clinical trials for the development of new cystic fibrosis therapies.
Dr. Boyle completed all of his medical training at Johns Hopkins including fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine before joining the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1999. He is internationally known both for his clinical research in CFTR modulators and for his work to improve care for adults with cystic fibrosis. While at Johns Hopkins he has received numerous honors including the American Lung Association’s George Comstock Career Achievement Award, American Federation of Clinical Research Achievement Award, “Patient’s Choice Award”, “Best Teacher”, and “Best Doctors in America”.
